How much does a humanoid robot cost?
Short answer: humanoids start at $4,900 for the Unitree R1. A home robot that does chores, the 1X NEO, is $20,000 or $499 a month, and a full-size research humanoid like the Unitree H2 is $29,900. Industrial models run to six figures, and Tesla, Figure and Boston Dynamics don't sell theirs to the public at any price.

The four price tiers
Under $2,000: small and mostly in China
The Noetix Bumi launched in China at 9,998 yuan (about $1,380). It is 94 cm tall and aimed at education. Outside China you will pay a reseller markup and get limited support.
$5,000 to $15,000: entry-level research humanoids
The Unitree R1 ($4,900–$5,900) and Unitree G1 (from $13,500) are real, walking humanoids you can order online. They are development platforms: impressive demos out of the box, but useful work requires programming. Battery life is short, around one to two hours.
$20,000 to $30,000: home helpers and full-size platforms
The 1X NEO ($20,000, or $499/month) is the first humanoid sold for household chores, with deliveries planned for 2026. The Unitree H2 ($29,900) is an adult-sized, 1.82 m research platform.
$90,000 and up, or quote only: industrial
Industrial humanoids and advanced research versions cost six figures or are sold by quote. The famous ones, Tesla Optimus, Figure 03 and Atlas, are not for sale to the public.
What else you pay for
- Tax, shipping and import duties. Unitree's prices exclude them, and freight for a 35–70 kg robot is not cheap.
- Research versions. "EDU" versions with dexterous hands and extra computers often cost three to five times the base price.
- Short warranties. Six to twelve months is typical. Budget for repairs.
- Software and your time. Apart from the NEO, these robots do little useful work until someone programs them.
