What to know
NEO is built for homes rather than factories. It is light for its height, covered in a soft knit suit, and quiet enough (22 dB by 1X's figure) to work in a living room.
1X opened orders in October 2025 with a $200 refundable deposit, a $20,000 purchase price and a $499/month subscription. 1X says first deliveries are for US customers in 2026. As of our last check we had not seen a confirmed customer delivery, so treat the timeline as a target.
Like other home humanoids, NEO is expected to do some tasks on its own and others with help from a remote operator at 1X, who can see through its cameras. Think about whether you are comfortable with that before you order.
Good for
- Early adopters who want a home helper robot
- People who would rather rent monthly than pay $20,000 up front
Watch out for
- Delivery dates are a promise, not a track record
- Remote-operator assistance means a person may see inside your home
- Early units will not do every chore; capabilities are still growing
