How we check prices

SmartBot Labs is a database of 21 robots you can buy, or that people wish they could buy. Robot prices are confusing: makers quote different numbers for different versions, retailers mark them up, and the internet repeats old launch prices and CEO targets as if they were current. We try to fix that by saying exactly where every number comes from.

What the price labels mean

  • Official price: the price on the maker's own store or product page.
  • Retail listings: the maker doesn't sell directly or doesn't list a price, so we show what retailers charge. These vary by seller.
  • Reported price: announced by the maker or reported by news outlets, but not on a store page we can check. Treat as close, not exact.
  • Quote only: sold through a sales team with no public price.
  • No price announced: the maker hasn't set a price. We will not invent one.

Specs

We list specs as published by the maker and leave a field blank when we can't find a reliable figure. Every robot page links its sources and shows the date we last checked it.

Photos

We only use photos that are free to reuse, mostly from Wikimedia Commons, and credit each one below and on its robot's page. Robots we couldn't find a free photo of are shown as drawings.

Who writes this

The research and writing are done with the help of AI tools, working from the maker pages, store listings and news reports linked on each robot's page, and checked before publishing. We have not tested these robots hands-on, and we don't pretend to: this is a price and spec database, not a review site.

How the site makes money

Some "where to buy" links are affiliate links, and the site may show ads. If you buy through a link we may earn a commission at no cost to you. That never decides whether a robot is listed or how it is described; robots that aren't for sale are listed just the same. See our privacy policy.
