What to know

Spot is the robot dog that made robot dogs famous. Today it is an industrial inspection tool: it walks routes in factories, power plants and construction sites, carrying cameras, gas sensors or an arm.

There is no public price. The $74,500 figure you will see online was the 2020 launch price for the base robot. A working deployment with sensors, an arm and software typically costs a lot more, so get a quote.

If you want a robot dog for home or hobby use, Spot is the wrong choice; a Unitree Go2 does the fun parts for a few percent of the cost.

Good for

Industrial inspection
